Midwestern Mardi Gras in Kearney, NE
Over 300 agents and company representatives-including 62 "first-timers" and 44 trade fair exhibitors - gathered in Kearney February 21-22 for "Midwestern Mardi Gras", IIAN's 35th Annual Winter Conference (formerly Rural & Small Agents) held at the Holiday Inn Convention Center.
A highlight of the conference was an inspirational and humorous talk by keynoter Aaron Davis, who gave attendees strategies to “perform like a champion”. Featured conference instructors were insurance guru John Dismukes, E&O expert Lisa Worley, along with breakout session presenters Sid Fey with Nationwide, Charles Olson with OCI Insurance Services, IIAN Health Insurance Exchange Task Force Chairman Mark Lisko and Legislative Representative Jim Cavanaugh, and Todd Kelley and Dave Teche with Central Financial Services.
Mitch Freshour with Weber Insurance in Columbus was the winner of a $100 Young Agent scholarship, sponsored by IIAN Director Jim Steider of Seward. IIAN member Todd Mundhenke of Ainsworth was the lucky winner of the InsurPac raffle prize – a 51” 3-D HDTV and BluRay player.
The conference is presented each year by IIAN’s Farm & Small Agents committee, chaired by Kim Williams of North Platte.
