IIABA is renowned for its effectiveness on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. and continues to be recognized as one of Washington's top lobbying groups.  Backed by a formidable grassroots program made up of 6,500 key contact agents, IIABA has played a role in shaping legislation in areas including insurance regulation, crop insurance, tax reform, and health/managed care reform.   

IIABA's government affairs team works on a bipartisan basisthrough lobbying, hands-on grassroots activities and media outreachto educate lawmakers on legislative issues critical to independent insurance agents.


Where We Stand


Federal Legislative Updates


Every spring more than a thousand agents including IIAN members - visit Capitol Hill offices to lobby members of the House, Senate and their staffs on issues that directly impact independent agents and consumers.
