OFFICERS ELECTED FOR INDEPENDENT INSURANCE AGENTS OF NEBRASKA
The Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska (IIAN) elected new officers at the association’s 107th Annual Convention on Oct. 2 in Lincoln.
Phillip F. Winkelmann, partner with Omaha Insurance Services in Omaha, was elected as IIAN’s new president. Winkelmann has been an insurance professional for over 25 years. Insurance runs in his family – his uncle founded an independent insurance agency in the 1940’s, and his father and uncle owned Union Casualty Insurance Company in Omaha until 1986. Winkelmann has served as IIAN’s vice president and secretary-treasurer, and as chairman of the association’s Finance, Strategic Planning, and Political Action committees. He and spouse Jennifer have five children, and he is active in St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
Michael E. Jones, CIC principal with Jones Insurance Agency based in Grand Island, was elected as IIAN’s vice president, and Krae E. Dutoit, partner and principal with Gary Thompson Agency in Grand Island, as secretary-treasurer.
Mark B. Lisko, principal and partner with Insurance Planning Associates in Omaha, was elected as IIAN’s representative on the association’s national Board; and John V. Deardorff, with Peterson Bros. Insurance in Omaha, was honored with IIAN’s Distinguished Service Award.
Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska is a non-profit trade association, representing over 2,000 Trusted Choice® independent insurance agents and their employees. IIAN members offer their clients choice, customization, and claims assistance with a variety of insurance companies in all lines of insurance – property, casualty, life, and health.
