The New Talent Network
IIAN and the IIAN Foundation are working together to build a new Talent Network to connect Nebraska
college students with jobs and opportunities in the independent agency system.
- Internships - providing the tools and coaching independent agencies and companies need to develop relationships with promising business students.
- Jobs pipeline - promoting open insurance positions to business students and helping agencies recruit new talent.
- Scholarships for college students with potential for choosing a career in insurance - the Foundation has awarded more than $95,000 to date, and is currently awarding $7,000 each year.
The tournament was named in memory of Jay Jacupke, CPCU, who was associated with Ellerbrock-Norris Agency in Hastings. Jay served in many association capacities, including Secretary-Treasurer in 1995. Jay lost his heroic battle with cancer in 1996 at the age of 44.
year all proceeds benefit our new program the Talent Network. Money raised will go toward scholarships,
program development and recruitment of top talent. Without this effort, the impact will be felt
throughout the industry and those who work for and through the insurance world.

Beyond supporting successful careers and protecting the financial security of our neighbors, the insurance industry adds over $10 billion to the Nebraska
economy each year. In fact, insurance is one of our state’s leading export
products. We are all enriched by the economic impact of the insurance industry.
We’re calling on current leaders like you, who have built successful careers in the industry, to join the effort. With your help, we can offer competitive education and scholarship opportunities, so your future employees, colleagues and successors are the very best they can be.
