Members of IIAN have the opportunity to obtain Errors and Omissions coverage on a broader policy form for a substantially reduced premium!  The long-term partnership between our association and Westport/SwissRe (A+ rated) continues to bring very good news for independent agents.


Carrier Name Change and Enhanced Policy Form

Substantive improvements in Swiss Re's E&O policy language will become effective February 2022.  

In addition to coverage enhancements and additional deductible reduction opportunities, Swiss Re's upcoming corporate name will change from Westport Insurance Corporation  to North American Specialty Insurance Company (NAS). This name change is occurring to reduce complexity, enable strategic growth and improve financial efficiency.

The updates include, but are not limited to:

  • Two new deductible reduction options
  • Insolvency exclusion, relaxing the AM Best rating requirement from B+ to B.
  • Enhanced definition of Professional Services to include client referrals
  • Key Insurance Professional Assistance (New coverage!)



The following credits are available exclusively to IIAN members on the IIABA/Swiss Re Policy:

  • 10% Loss Control Credit - upon completion of an approved loss control seminar (with additional loss control credits now available for a maximum 20% credit)
  • Experience Credit:
    • 10% if claim-free for 2 years
    • 15% if claim-free for 3 years
    • 20% if claim-free for 4 years
