Insurance Professional Scholarship
The IIAN Foundation is now accepting applications for two New Independent Insurance Professional scholarships, for employees of Big "I" Nebraska member agencies: - one for new professionals in their first year of employment
- one for professionals in their second through fifth year of employment.
First Year of EmploymentApplications accepted January 1 - 31, 2024. Winner announced after February 15. Amount: Up to $500 Scholarship winners are only eligible for one award Criteria: - Applicant must be a full-time employee of an IIAN member agency
- Scholarship award must be used to complete an entry-level insurance professional development course sponsored by IIAN, the Insurance Institute of America, The National Alliance for Insurance Education, or an alternative insurance course provider approved in advance by the Scholarship Selection Committee
- Approved course must be an integral component of a program leading to a certificate or professional designation
- Course must be completed within 12 months
- Course fees will be reimbursed upon documented successful completion of the approved course
- Selections are made by a committee comprised of members of the Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska and directors of the IIAN Foundation
- There is no limitation on persons who are eligible recipients of scholarships. Scholarships will be given without regard to race, creed, religion, nation origin, sex, or employment status of prospective recipients or of any relative of any prospective recipient.
- A one-page essay is required, explaining applicant’s insurance career goals and how the scholarship will be used to further career development
