| Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska would like to congratulate Al Dillard of Lincoln on his retirement from IMT Insurance on Sept. 3. Dillard started his career at IMT Insurance in May 1975 working part-time during his college years in the records department. Upon graduating from college, he started full-time with IMT Insurance in May 1979 in the Claims Department as an adjuster trainee. In April 1980, Dillard was relocated to Omaha as a Claim Representative where he was given a territory to handle insurance claims. He was promoted to a Senior Claims Representative in October 1986 and continued to handle the Omaha territory. Dillard began to take on some double duties in May 1994, as both a Senior Claims Representative and a Territory Manager in the Marketing department. In July 1995, Dillard became a full-time Territory Manager in the western Iowa and Nebraska territory. By February 1999, Dillard was promoted to a Senior Territory Manager, which is the position that he is retiring from. Dillard was responsible for finding, training and servicing independent insurance agents in Nebraska and southwest Iowa. He was a loyal and extremely valuable employee for IMT Insurance for 42 years. Dillard was named IIAN’s Company Representative of the Year in 2010 and attended many IIAN Annual Conventions over the years. “The most rewarding part of being a member of the Big ‘I’ and in the insurance industry has been the countless number of people I have met over the years,” Dillard said. “The relationships I formed over the past 42 years in that position is what I will miss the most in retirement.” Dillard said he has always been an avid traveler, having visited many countries in Europe. His plan is to continue travelling the world once it is safe to do so. |
