Nebraska Primary Election Results Are In

By Perre Neilan, IIAN Legislative Representative

Nebraska held its primary election on Tuesday, May 10.  Tens of millions of dollars were spent on the republican primary for governor in a race that gained national attention.

Congratulations to Jim Pillen and his team for advancing to the general election with 34% of the vote.  There is no runoff in Nebraska, so Pillen will face democrat nominee Carol Blood in November.  Pillen is a heavy favorite.

Congratulations also to incumbent constitutional officers Bob Evnen and John Murante.  Not to mention Speaker Mike Hilgers and Lt. Governor Mike Foley on their wins.

The field of two is now also set for state legislative races.  Few surprises but some interesting numbers.  All incumbents who ran will advance, and two former state senators will also be on the non partisan general election ballot.
